Being able to pop right out of bed as soon as the alarm goes off is much easier said than done for some of us. Five more minutes often turns into 30 more minutes, and then you’re rushing to get ready for the day. But, like anything you are trying to change or improve about yourself, it takes time. Read on to learn “6 Ways To Become A Morning Person,” as told by Medical Daily on Yahoo! Health.

Are you looking to achieve those early morning workouts? Need a little extra time to spend on your hair? Want to beat the traffic? Whatever the reason, instill it in your mind so that the reason goes beyond not hitting the snooze button.
2. Find A Set Schedule, And Stick To It
Your body has its own clock, so set your alarm for the same time everyday and get up no matter what. If you can ward off any desires for nap during the day, you will organically start to go to bed earlier. Once you find out how many hours of sleep you need to feel rested enough, keep up with that schedule.
3. Prepare The Night Before
An hour before you typically go to bed, your brain releases melatonin, a hormone that makes you sleepy. However, it is only released when your brain thinks its nighttime. So, try not to watch TV, use your phone or laptop before bed, as this tricks your brain to think it is daytime. This will result in having a more difficult time falling asleep.
4. Ease Into The Rhythm
Rome wasn’t built in a day, and your sleep schedule won’t be either. Start off in half-hour increments and work your way up from there, knowing that you are working toward your goal.
5. Drink Tea, Stretch, Exercise
Starting your day with some exercises and stretching is an excellent way to start your day on the right foot. That early morning run or yoga session will automatically make you feel more accomplished. Looking forward to your morning cup of tea (or coffee) at home is also something that you may not get to full enjoy if you typically guzzle it on your morning commute .
6. Eat A Big Breakfast
Your body needs fuel to get through a full day. A healthy breakfast consists of protein, carbs and fresh fruit. This will also lead to more productivity throughout the day because of clearer thinking. So, ditch the granola bars!
